  Lovely atmosphere, gorgeous cakes, great range of teas, and coffees; child friendly; loved the decor - amazing selection of books to browse. I think they served wine and beer too.

  Friendly, atmospheric, nice selection of light bites food, good service, unusual cakes (my first beetroot cake!) and delicious tea! Would definitely come back.

  After a great family lunch that we didn't mind waiting quite a bit for we decided to split a slice of cake. Having previously queued and paid 19 pounds for our lunch I then tried to pay 2.90 for a slice of (delicious) cake. I was flabbergasted to be informed by the male server with dark hair and a beard that I needed to spend 5 quid to be able to use my card...I protested that having spent almost 20 quid on lunch could he not just put it through? He said NO and he was unable to serve me. To avoid any toddler meltdowns my wife decided to pay the 2.90 with money we needed to pay our parking. We did not make a fuss but I did ask the male server if it had been necessary to take this approach and he seemed convinced with his decision. We promptly left without as much as a Thanks or goodbye. I am sure there will be many readers astonished that anyone could fault this place as it seems well liked but they really dropped the ball today and I will never be back. Shame really as the food and coffee and decor was great. Annoying
